The fertile, water rich ancestral lands of the people of Ngatahi can be found on the plains formed and sustained by the Motueka river as it flows towards Tasman bay at the top of the South Island.

Ngātahi is custodian of this land and is committed to the sustainable production of fruit grown to the specific requirements of our global markets. The company is owned by Wakatu Incorporation and Ngati Rarua Atiawa Iwi Trust, two Maori groups with diverse business interests.

The company currently exports kiwifruit, apples and pears and has post harvest facilities.

Ngātahi has:

  • 61 hectares of apples from a mix of Cox's Orange, Royal Gala, Braeburn, Jazz and Pinklady.
  • July 2007 began 5 year, 33 hectare planting program in M9 apples, including new varieties
  • 12 hectares of Pears, including Taylor's Gold, D.D Comice and Buerre Bosc. 
  • July 2007 began 3 year, 14 Hectare planting program in dwarf pears, including new varieties
  • 50 hectares of Green Kiwifruit.
